Within this itinerary are suggestions of potential performances or clinics/masterclasses - and you will work with our Festival Performance Department to choose from this menu (and others). The festival format includes maximum four such experiences - any combination of concerts or clinics.
Day 1
Departure from USA via scheduled airline service to Munich, Germany. Enjoy full meal/beverage service and in-flight entertainment during this trans-Atlantic flight.
Day 2 Salzburg
Munich airport arrival assistance. Meet MCI Tour Manager who assist group to awaiting chartered motorcoaches for a transfer to Salzburg. Stop en route for a transfer by boat to the island Herreninsel to visit King Ludwig II’s castle, a replica of Versailles. Continue on to Salzburg for dinner and overnight accommodations.

Salzburg, Mozart's birthplace, is a delight from the first sight of the outline of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the symbol of the power of the prince-archbishops. The city’s picturesque streets with their wrought-iron signs, its spacious squares with sculptured fountains and the noble architecture of its buildings inspired by bishops with a passion for construction, leave memories which linger for years. |
Day 3 Salzburg
A guided tour of Salzburg including Mirabel Palace & Gardens, Mozart Square, the Dom (Cathedral), University Church, the Mozarthaus (birthplace) and a cable car ride up to the Fortress (for an unparalleled view of the city below). Orchestral workshop at the Mozarteum (or similar), concentrating on performance practices of Mozart with an acknowledged clinician. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 4 Salzburg
Morning tour to see Schloß Leopoldskron and to visit Hellbrunn Schloß, with entrance to the castle itself and the trick fountains. Both of these castles were prominently used in the movie "The Sound of Music". Also visit the parish church in nearby Hallein, the home and tomb of Franz-Xaver Gruber, composer of the famous carol "Silent Night, Holy Night". Afternoon at leisure. Concert as part of the Celebrate Mozart Orchestra Festival at the University Church (or similar).
Day 5 Vienna
Transfer to Vienna via Mondsee (church was site of "The Sound of Music" wedding), Melk (with entrance to the world-famous Abbey), and Dürnstein (Richard the LionHeart was imprisoned here). Check-in to Vienna hotel for dinner and overnight.

Vienna is still considered the music capital of the world. It is a city of refined tastes, grace, style and unmatched artistic accomplishments. For a thousand years, Vienna was the capital of the far-flung Holy Roman and Hapsburg empires. Though its people and ways have changed, Vienna has retained its imperial monuments, not as reminders of past glories, but as living symbols of its present freedom. |
Day 6 Vienna
A morning guided tour of Historical Vienna, includes the Ringstraße, Parliament Building, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Kärtnerstraße, the State Opera, Rathaus, Stadtpark (to see the Strauß Statue) and entrance to Schönbrunn, the magnificent Palace built by the Hapsburgs in imitation of Versailles. Orchestral workshop with Prof. Dallinger (or similar) at the Music University of Vienna. Concert at the Orangerie Schönbrunn (or similar) as part of the Celebrate Mozart Orchestra Festival.
Day 7 Prague
Half-day guided tour of Musical Vienna, including entrance to Mozart's "Figaro" House and also the Collection of Musical Instruments in the Hofburg, which displays the history of musical instruments as well as personal instruments of composers such as Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Strauß, Brahms, Mahler and many others. Afternoon transfer to Prague.
Day 8 Prague
A morning guided tour of Prague includes the Charles Bridge, St. Nicholas Church, Old Town Square, Municipal House, St. Agnes Convent, the Jewish Quarter and Hradcany Castle, including St. Vitus Cathedral and the Old Royal Palace. Orchestral workshop at the Prague Music Academy with Professor Jiri Tomasek (or similar).
Day 9 Prague
A guided tour of Musical Prague includes entrance to the Mozart and Dvorak Museums. Concert at St. Nicholas Church (or similar) as part of the Celebrate Mozart Orchestra Festival.
Day 10 Depart for home
Transfer to Prague’s International Airport for return flight to USA. Arrive home in the evening of the same day.
