Celebrating the Heart of the Valley Children's Choir's 25th Anniversary!

Corvallis, Oregon, the home of Oregon State University, is the site of the 2009 Heart of the Valley Children's Choir Festival. Selected children's choirs are invited to participate in workshops, individual choir performances, and a combined finale performance in the Austin Auditorium of the LaSells Stewart Center on the beautiful campus of Oregon State University. This festival is sponsored by the Heart of the Valley Children's Choir and Music Celebrations International. Nationally-recognized composer and conductor Dr. André Thomas (Artistic Director of the Tallahassee Community Chorus and Director of Choral Activities at the Florida State University) will serve as the Festival Music Director.
In the mid-1800's, the Oregon Trail began to open the American West to the world. And what was the single thing that was drawing those rugged pioneers? It was the great Willamette Valley - a lush, fertile paradise. When not deep into rehearsals, participating groups will have opportunities to experience the small-town flavor of Corvallis with its shopping opportunities and riverfront dining. They will also spend an afternoon at the Pacific Coast to visit the Newport Aquarium and enjoy seeing the sand dunes and surf at South Beach State Park.
Accommodations on the OSU campus are comfortable, and the food in the university dining centre is of high quality.
