Music Celebrations Presents Mozart International Choral Festival in the historic Salzburg Dom June 30 – July 4, 2010
|
Join us for the Mozart International Choral Festival, to be held in Salzburg under the co-direction of Dr. André Thomas and János Czifra, choirmaster of the Salzburg Dom. Select choruses will join together in the spectacular four-day festival culminating in a performance of Mozart's Mass in C "Coronation", K.317, with accompaniment by full orchestra and European soloists under the direction of Herr Czifra, and selected music to be directed by Dr. Thomas, one of America's foremost conductors and clinicians. The finale concert will take place in the historic Salzburg Dom in Salzburg. Schedules permitting, participating singers may participate and sing in a Mass in the Salzburg Dom on Sunday July 4th.
Salzburg: Mozart's birthplace is a delight from the first sight of the outline of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the symbol of the power of the prince-archbishops. The city's picturesque streets with their wrought-iron signs, its spacious squares with sculptured fountains and the noble architecture of its buildings inspired by bishops with a passion for construction, leave memories which linger for years.
