Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Choral Festival

Come join us in song as Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff directs a festival chorus made up of choirs across the United States, celebrating the bicentennial of America's greatest President. Current plans are to hold the Festival performance in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

National Memorial Day Choral Festival

Featuring Artistic Director Dr. Z. Randall Stroope

Pride. Sacrifice. Service. Come sing in honor of America's heroes from the American Revolution through Operation Iraqi Freedom, in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts over Memorial Day Weekend under the artistic direction of Dr. Z. Randall Stroope. Not merely a festival for Washington, the National Memorial Day Choral Festival is an event for the entire country – a major event which seeks to draw the attention of Americans to the real meaning for the holiday.

National Community Concert Band Sousa Festival

Washington, D.C.
June 26 – 28, 2009

Featuring Artistic Director Col. Arnald Gabriel

This second annual band festival will include individual performances at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Virginia, then on the following day a massed performance by all the bands at the Abraham Lincoln National Memorial in Washington, D.C., as part of the Lincoln Bicentennial festivities. Participating bands will also have the opportunity to visit Historic Congressional Cemetery to lay a wreath and possibly perform one or two pieces at the graveside of John Philip Sousa, "The March King."

Rome International Choral Festival

Rome, Italy
June 25 - 28, 2009

Featuring Artistic Director Dr. Z. Randall Stroope

Music Celebrations is pleased to produce the Rome International Choral Festival under the direction of Dr. Z. Randall Stroope. The Festival Chorus, made of both American and Italian singers, will have the opportunity to participate and sing in a Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, and to perform in Rome’s historic St. Paul’s Outside the Walls. Festival rehearsals will take place in downtown Rome’s S. Maria sopra Minerva, located near the Pantheon.

Music Celebrations is pleased to produce the second annual Somerset International Youth Choral Festival, July 6 - 10, 2009. The rehearsals and festival performance will take place in Wells Cathedral, which has maintained a choral tradition virtually unbroken for over 800 years. Youth choirs from North America (both treble and mixed youth voices) will join with English youth singers to make up an outstanding festival chorus of 300 singers.
