The National Independence Day Parade

Nowhere is there greater excitement on America's birthday than in the nation's capital. Constitution Avenue and the monuments in Washington, D.C. form the setting for this National Parade.
The National Memorial Day Parade
After many years of absence, the National Memorial Day Parade was revived for the celebration surrounding the 2004 dedication of the World War II Memorial. It was so well received that this is now an annual event. The American public knows its debt to our military veterans past and present, and this National Memorial Day Parade is an acknowledgment of the heroic deeds of our military services. Constitution Avenue along the National Mall is the setting of this celebration.
Thousands of people line Pennsylvania Avenue every four years on January 20th, waiting for the passing of the presidential motorcade during the inaugural parade. Starting with Thomas Jefferson's second inaugural, it has become tradition for the president to parade down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol Building to the White House.
