Music is the universal language. It crosses international borders, unifies cultures, uplifts the spirit, and conveys so much, with so little. The discovery of new countries, cultures, languages, and friends broadens our knowledge and furthers our understanding of our world.

The Texas Youth Orchestra & Choir endeavors to provide a quality education from top music educators from across Texas. We enable Texas students to reach across international borders to further their own study of music and learn about the cultures of Europe.

Our 2012 tour will take us to the British Isles. We hope that by studying the music centers of Europe, we will gain insight into our own art form and allow our minds and souls to stretch beyond our imagination. Your desire to convey music across cultures makes our global voyage within your reach.
The TYOC directors have a wealth of music education, expertise, and enthusiasm, but no amount of accolades, trophies, and competitions can compare with the opportunity to perform and tour throughout Europe. Each of the directors had an inspiring, life-changing opportunity in their youth, which instilled in them a passion to learn more about their craft, and to convey their love and joy for music and travel.

Your life is a journey. We believe that experiencing varied cultures and performing is an integral part of your musical education. Just know that as you reflect back upon your youth, you will always remember the friends that you made, the music that you played, and how this trip changed your life.
